In our teams, we are tasked to protect the precious fragile egg.
Materials provided
some drinking straws
a roll of tape
a piece of cardboard
a stack of newspapers
two pairs of scissors
We are building a safety home to protect and hold our egg!

1) I learnt that to make slime, we cannot mix any white glue with any detergent and get slime. We have to use glue and detergent that have certain chemicals to have a chemical reaction that causes the mixture to turn into slime. For the egg test, I learnt that the higher the structure is from the ground, the higher the chance of the egg cracking. We also need to tape our egg to the structure or the egg will just fall out.
ReplyDelete2) 'School Glue' does not have the chemicals needed to make slime. During our egg test with Mrs Low, only 1 or 2 managed to keep the egg from cracking.
3. I like the excitement just before our structures are dropped.
Slime Making
ReplyDelete1. I leant that to make slime, we will need to use 2 kinds of detergent and white glue to make slime. 2. I also learnt that we cannot mix any kind of detergent to make slime.
Protecting our EGG
1. I learnt that if the struture of the egg is no thick enough, it will crack. I like the activity as all our eggs were saved and no lifes were lost. :D
